DO I NEED TO HAVE ANY PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN THE FRANCHISE INDUSTRY OR HEALTH INDUSTRY TO OWN A LICE HAPPENS FRANCHISE?

You don’t need any prior experience in owning your own business or operating a franchise business. We understand that the majority of new franchise owners do not have prior experience in owning their own business.

WHAT OTHER SKILLS DO YOU CONSIDER CRITICAL FOR MY SUCCESS AS A FRANCHISEE?

Besides the obvious love of helping others (or a disdain for bugs!), we believe that strong sales and customer-service skills are important. You must have the ability to develop relationships with schools, day care centers, medical practices, camps, etc. (anywhere children congregate). Parents are our greatest source of referrals. You must be detail-oriented and have the ability to relate to and engage children, from toddlers to high school students. It is also important to be flexible – every day will be different!

HOW LONG WILL I BE AT TRAINING AND WHAT CAN I EXPECT TO LEARN?

Our “Quick Launch” program gives you everything you need to immediately implement Lice Happens’ established business processes and best practices. Our program includes hands-on training on how to provide a safe and effective head lice treatment service. We will also train you on running the day-to-day business operations. The initial training program consists of 4-5 days of classroom and on-site training in Annapolis, Maryland. On-going training is provided through our “Constant Connection” program.

CAN I WORK FROM HOME?

Yes. We recommend that you maintain a separate office within your home for administrative and operational functions. All treatments are conducted at your clients’ homes.

DOES LICE HAPPENS OFFER FINANCING FOR THE FRANCHISEE FEE?

No. All financial responsibilities are outlined in our Franchise Disclosure Document. The range of investment, which includes your franchise fee, training, initial marketing and setting up your home office will be between $27,900 and $44,900.

DOES LICE HAPPENS OFFER A MULTI-UNIT FRANCHISE OPPORTUNITY?

Not in the traditional sense, however, you can add households to your franchise agreement so you can service a larger geography. We understand that you may want the flexibility to open multiple locations and have complete control of your territory. You are provided an exclusive territory as part of your franchise agreement. We will also provide you a first right of refusal for adjacent territories at the time of your franchise closing.

WHAT ARE THE INITIAL FRANCHISE FEES AND ONGOING ROYALTY FEES?

The franchise fee will range from $19,000 to $29,000 depending on the factors that are used to define your exclusive territory. You will pay ongoing royalties of 8% and contribute 1% to our national marketing fee. We ask that you also spend marketing dollars locally to increase awareness. We will take care of your Pay-Per-Click program.

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE ME TO OPEN MY BUSINESS ONCE I HAVE SIGNED A FRANCHISE AGREEMENT?

Since we have no build-out, you will be in business as soon as you complete training.

WILL YOU HELP ME WITH MY INITIAL MARKETING STRATEGY AND GRAND OPENING?

Yes. We will assist you with all aspects of your opening.

SOCIAL MEDIA IS REALLY BIG RIGHT NOW. DO YOU HAVE A POLICY AS TO WHAT I CAN AND CANNOT DO?

We have an extensive social media policy that we have coupled with best practices. Some franchise owners are better equipped than others to monitor and manage their social media presence. We will discuss this at length during training and you will be all set up before you open your Lice Happens franchise.
